May 16, 2018 will be forever embedded in our minds as one of the best shows Rockford has ever seen.
On My Six, New Years Day, In This Moment and Halestorm all tore the mother f—in’ house down at The BMO Harris Bank Center. It was one of the best rock shows I’ve ever seen. I meant to take more pictures but I was so incredibly busy working, I didn’t. I wanted to take more, so I could relive the magic time and time again.
See, photos speak volumes to me. A photo instantly takes me back to the moment, the smells, feelings, sound… it’s as if the picture becomes alive.
Thankfully, I had 4,000 of my closest friends to take photos for me. I thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
If you are like me, you’ll want to hold on to this too.
STATIC SIGNAL
Before we even walked into the BMO Harris Bank Center, we threw a party on Elm Street, between Church and Main. The BMO was grilling hamburgers and chicken sandwiches, beer and margaritas were flowing, Zander broadcast his show live from the street and Static Signal was on hand to play for the pre-show block party.

ON MY SIX
After the pre-show block party, we all headed inside to watch Big Gig Contest Winners, On My Six, take the stage. This was the biggest show they have ever played, reaching an audience of die hard fans, new fans, and everything in between. You could just FEEL the energy from the guys, they gave it their all, and it showed.

NEW YEARS DAY
This was my first time seeing New Years Day. I was blown away. I also now have to figure out how to dye my hair half red and half black.

IN THIS MOMENT
Up next on the bill was Maria Brinks and In This Moment. Another band I surprisingly haven’t seen perform live. I was left speechless. Maria is incredible, it was extremely theatrical and it’s apparent why they have such a dedicated and cult following.

HALESTORM
And then… there was a HALESTORM! I expected Lzzy and the guys to be good, but I didn’t expect Halestorm to be THAT good. From a haunting rendition of Cheap Trick’s “I Want You to Want Me,” a drum solo which included drum sticks the size of baseball bats and myself sobbing to Halestorm’s “Dear Daughter,” it was a show that no one will ever forget.

YOU!
While the music was the ‘star of the show’ at Spring Fling, the camera deserves to be turned around to highlight YOU! We wouldn’t be able to have a show like this without the fans. You’ll probably see a few familiar faces, as some of you got to meet your favorite rock stars! I also must say, THANK YOU, from all the bands, The X Staff and me. We love you Rockford.
