Rockford, we are in for a TREAT! Take a look at the incredible art that will be gracing the streets of downtown Rockford.
Tuesday, it was announced that during a 5 day art festival, 8 artists will work with teams to create giant pieces of art in downtown Rockford. There will be music, food trucks and more at each site while the artists work, according to WTVO.
It was all made possible by a $91,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce’s Office of Tourism. The festival will take place in May.
But let’s take a look at the artists, their impressive work, and get a sneak peek into what we can expect downtown.
Artist: Molly Z, Chicago
Molly’s mural will be at Lucette Holistic Salon and Boutique, 508 E. State Street.
Artist: Yulia Avgustinovich, Denver
Yulia’s art will be at The Symbols, 316 W. State Street.
Artist: Jenny M. Mathews, Rockford
Jenny’s art will be at Wired Café Alley, 416 E. State Street.
Artists: Lisa Frost and Libbie Frost, Rockford
Lisa and Libbie will be at Lower Jefferson Street (under bridge approach on east side of Rock River), 299 N. Madison Street
Artist: Chris Silva, Chicago
Chris’ work will be displayed at Rockford Orthopedic Appliance, 422 E. State Street
Artist: Corey Barksdale, Atlanta
Corey’s art will be at Urban Equities, 114 N. First Street (visible from 324 E. State. Street)
