The Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals will face each other after each won their NLDS games on Wednesday night, and advanced to the National League Championship Series.

The Washington Nationals overcame a three-run deficit to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-3.   Howie Kendrick blasted a tiebreaking grand slam in the 10th inning after Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, making a relief appearance in the top of the eighth inning, blew the Dodgers’ 3-1 lead by allowing home runs to Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Cardinals scored 10 runs in the first inning and easily eliminated the Atlanta Braves with a 13-1 final score in Game 5 of their NL Division Series on Wednesday in Atlanta. The Cardinals’ 10-run inning set a postseason record for the most runs scored in a single inning in a division series or any series-deciding game.

The Nationals will open the NLCS against the Cardinals on Friday night at Busch Stadium.
