During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, RACVB is here to help keep our tourism partners and residents informed. Please continue to follow all @GoRockford social channels and visit www.gorockford.com/resourcecenter.
Some important recent updates include:
  • RACVB created the Rockford Area Hospitality/Tourism COVID-19 Resource Group on Facebook group for idea sharing. We invite all community partners to join in on the discussion HERE. Together, we can help share ideas, factual information and best practices to help our partners and friends.
  • Need info and not finding it? If your business or attraction/venue has a legislative or regulatory question and can’t find that info on one of the local/state/federal websites (look there first), email covid19@gorockford.com and we’ll do our best to track that information down for you.
  • The City of Rockford is taking a number of steps to help local businesses impacted by COVID-19. Sign up HERE for Updates from the City of Rockford.
  • The RACVB Annual Luncheon on April 2 has been postponed, and we’re working out details to reschedule for a later date. Thank you for your understanding and support. We will communicate with those who have purchased tickets and offer a refund, or will hold your ticket for when the event occurs later in the year.
  • Many local restaurants are serving food via delivery, carryout and curbside pick-up, and RACVB is collaborating with others including Rockford Buzz to keep this info up to date. Click HERE for restaurants offering these services.
  • As a reminder, our staff is now working remotely. All staff remain available to you. Contact information is available HERE.
  • For questions regarding benefits related to potential unemployment, the Illinois Department of Employment Security has built this helpful FAQ page. The downtown Rockford IDES office has been closed to the public and as such all unemployment claims should be filed online HERE.
  • Partner updates? If your business or attraction is doing something fun and creative that you’d like our team to know about, please email Andrea Cook at acook@gorockford.com.
We’ll send e-newsletters on a weekly basis. Please continue to share information with us too.

Food / Beverage – CURBSIDE, CARRYOUT & DELIVERY

Local restaurants are offering curbside carryout during normal business hours. Call to place your carryout order and you will be given an order number. Their team will be outside ready to direct you and get the food to your car in the quickest and easiest way possible. Delivery is still being offered, but please call ahead. (more restaurant information here).

Sites / Attractions – CLOSURES

Although many leisure activities are closing, our museums and attractions are building online programming for families at home. Continue to check attraction websites and social channels for updates on social live-streams, suggested activities, art projects for kids of all ages you can do at home and more! (more attractions information here)

Retail – CHANGES TO SHOPPING

Retailers are still open but making daily changes to keep their team and community safe. Access inside of stores is being limited to a few at a time to promote social distancing. In addition, some are offering curbside pickup of anything people see online and free local delivery for purchases made by phone or social media. (more retail information here)

Hotels – OPEN WITH ENHANCED PREVENTATIVE MEASURES

All Rockford area hotels are open at present time and many are offering a limited number of available rooms to promote social distancing and enhanced cleaning efforts. Additionally, breakfasts are being served in a Grab and Go fashion, and common areas like fitness centers, lobbies and event spaces are closed. (more hotel information here)
