The Winnebago County Treasurer’s Office will be closed to the public  for the protection of their staff and the pulic due to COVID-19 until further notice. Employees are working partial days in the office and from home to answer any emails received. The Treasurer’s Office has received questions about possible relief programs due to COVID-19; unfortuantely that is not a decision that can be made by their office but rather, would have to come directly from the State of Illinois.

If there are new developments this will be announced through their website and press release.

Property tax due dates will remain June and September. Property tax amounts are not yet available but they will be offering partial payment options from April 1st through September 30th to assist with any financial hardships. This option will be available online with debit card, credit card , online check or mailed payments.

Please note your parcel number if paying through the mail or through your personal online banking, they must have a parcel number to properly apply your payment. Partial payments option will NOT be accepted at banks. Any partial payments received will be reflected on printed bills when mailed.

If you have any questions or concerns during this time about your property tax payments or other questions, you may reach out to the Treasurer’s staff via email by visiting their website at www.winnebagotreasurer.com.
