With everything that is happening as of late, most of us are spending more time at home.  We’re talking walks through the neighborhood, grilling on the patio – and stoking the fire pit to make S’mores in the backyard.  As we become more mindful of our surroundings, look UP!  June is a great month for stargazing – and it kicks off tonight.

JUNE 5: STRAWBERRY MOON
The full moon will rise around sunset. The Old Farmer’s Almanac says it got its name from the Algonquin tribes of Northeastern America who used it as their signal to harvest the ripe strawberries.

JUNE 7-8:  THE CELESTIAL TRIO
Jupiter And Saturn will shine bright together throughout the month. But for 2 days, the moon will join them in the sky for a spectacular display that can be seen by the naked eye. The best viewing time is just before midnight.

JUNE 20: SUMMER SOLSTICE
Summer officially kicks of with a New Moon which means a dark, moonless night. It’s the perfect time to view both the Big Dipper and Little Dipper. If you are able to escape the city lights, it’s also a great time to get out the telescope and discover the fascinating beauty of the Milky Way.
