Finally, some good news for the summer! The YMCA knows that the water is healing for so many people in the Greater Rockford Area and are eager to get back in the pools. The YMCA is excited to share that both their pools at the SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA will open up, Monday, June 15. The Northeast Family YMCA pools will open after the state gets into phase 4.
Here are some additional details you need to know:
  • Lap swim and therapeutic exercise
  • One person per lap lane – advanced registration required (coming soon)
  • 45-minute timeslots from 10:15am-2pm and 4:15-7pm (expanded hours the following week)
  • The girls’, boys’, and special needs locker rooms will be available for swimmers ONLY. These will be the only available locker rooms because they are smaller and easier for us to maintain cleaning standards.
  • Swim team and swim lessons will be evaluated once the lifeguard team is in place and the pools are open.
  • Independent swimming for ages 16 and up. Ages 8-15 may lap swim with a parent on deck supervising.
The YMCA asks for your patience. They are doing their best to follow state and local health guidelines to ensure your safety. There are capacity limits, which means you will have to make reservations in advance.
NEW RESERVATION SYSTEM
The YMCA is launching a new reservation system for swimming, group fitness, racquetball, and pickleball. This new, easy-to-use system will show you how many available spots and allow you to enter a waitlist if a class is full. They will open the reservation system by the end of this week for classes and programs next week.
