You’ll be able to capture some gorgeous sunrise/sunset pics this weekend and it’s all thanks to a Saharan Dust Storm that is heading our way. As if we haven’t gone through enough already in 2020, a giant layer of thick dust that is currently positioned across the Caribbean that traveled all the way from the Saharan desert in Africa.

With winds this weekend, some if not a lot of this dust will likely move northward into the lower Great Lakes region and will be across Northern Illinois Friday into early next week.

This means that the days that are very hazy, and sunrises, and sunsets will be deep red. There will potentially be reduced air quality, muddy rains, and overall less visibility. This dust storm should move out of our area mid-next week.
