Because of COVID-19, families have been asked to wash their hands, practice social distancing and for the most part, stay home. But for some individuals, home isn’t always such a safe place.

With victims trapped at home with their abuser, this leaves little to no opportunity for them to go somewhere they feel safe. Since the start of the pandemic, domestic violence has been increasing not just in our community, but also around the world.

Starting Monday, July 20th, The Family Peace Center will have appointments available if you’re experiencing domestic or sexual abuse. If you’re in need of help, please call (779) 348-7600, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 am & 5 pm. You will be connected with the services you need. If it’s an emergency, please call 911.

The Family Peace Center is a multi-agency, multidisciplinary, co-located service center that provides services to victims of interpersonal violence. Service providers from throughout the community provide services from this location. The facility focuses on reducing the number of times survivors tell their story and the number of places survivors must go for help, as well as increases, access to services, and support for survivors and their children.
