Residents in the Stateline have been able to pick up groceries at local food distribution pop-up markets since the beginning of the pandemic, but they aren’t the only ones who were in need of food. Local pet owners who have been unemployed or had troubles buying food for their furry friends found comfort in a Pet Food Pop-Up.

In the freezing cold weather, volunteers from a group called, “Because They All Deserve to Live” set up in the Cronies parking lot, handing out pet food to whoever drove up and needed it.

These pet food distributions take place on the second Tuesday of each month. The next pop-up will be held on March 9th.

“Because They All Deserve to Live” has been providing free cat and dog food to local residents in Winnebago County for 2 years now.

You can read more about this group and find out how you can donate on their website.
