Are there some mornings that you wake up and you just can’t get out of bed, or feel sluggish? There are some things you might be doing in the morning that make you less productive.

1.  If you start the day in reactive mode instead of proactive mode, you’re going to wake up feeling like a sack of potatoes. Being proactive means spending some time thinking about your priorities that day and making a plan.  Not reaching for your phone first thing can help.

2.  Not getting dressed in the morning.  If you’re staying in sweatpants all day, that isn’t great for productivity.  But if you get dressed, your brain will tell you something new is about to happen and helps you shift gears.

3.  Skipping breakfast and not drinking water.  Being hungry and dehydrated makes it harder to focus.  So eat and stay hydrated to be at your best.

4.  Forcing yourself to wake up too early.  They say the early bird catches the worm, but don’t feel bad if you aren’t that person. If you get more sleep, you might actually get more done throughout the day.  So if your schedule allows, don’t feel guilty just sleep in a little longer.

5.  If you’re not prepping the night before.  Doing MORE at the end of a long day can seem tiring.  But did you know if you actually prepare yourself ahead of time, it can make a big difference in your productivity.  And in the long run, it can actually buy you more down-time.
