As we hit our one-year anniversary mark on the day that Winnebago County Public Health Administrator Dr. Sandra Martell announced the first case of the county. Now, she is still giving updates including one about another mass vaccination COVID-19 site coming to the local area.

The new site would be located at the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Rockford and should be up and running by the end of the month.

Dr. Martell also said, “I’d say it’s a constant learning curve. Every day this team has come in to do the very best it could with the information it had with the sole purpose of protecting and preventing the transmission of this illness and protecting the health of this community. As we learned more and had to change it up, we did what we needed to do.”
