The city of Beloit is being recognized for it’s commitment to trees and being green as it has been recognized  a 2020 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.

To be named a tree city, you must meet the criteria of having a tree board or department, having a tree care ordinance, having an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance or proclamation.
