If you’re from the Forest City area, chances are you’ve rooted for Fred VanVleet ever since he went Pro and went to play for the Toronto Raptors in 2016. Just like Rockford natives root for VanVleet, he roots for us by giving back to his community.

The Fred VanVleet Shop is hosting its 3rd Annual Backpack and Supplies Giveaway on Saturday, August 28th from 1-4 pm at the Auburn High School Fieldhouse. Face masks are required.

The shop will give backpacks to kids with school supplies stuffed inside to ensure they are ready to go for the beginning of the school year. The backpacks and supplies will be available until it runs out. This event is free to the public.
