On Monday, August 23rd, the Fire and Police Commission voted unanimously and appointed the two first female chiefs of Rockford. Carla Redd, will be the next Rockford Police Chief, and Michelle Pankow, the next Rockford Fire Department Chief.

This will be the first time in Rockford’s history that the departments will be led by women. The swearing-in ceremonies will be announced soon by the City of Rockford.
