ROCKFORD — There’s some new artwork popping up around City Hall.

The project, called Inside Out, is a collaboration of Stepping Stones Stars of Light, Shelter Care Jubilee Center, Rosecrance Ware Center and NAMI Northern Illinois. Participants were asked to decorate the outside of a mask to represent how they think others see them and the inside of the mask to represent how they see themselves.

“This display is all about inclusivity,” Mayor Tom McNamara said in a news release. “It is about Rockford citizens seeing other Rockford citizens for who they are. It’s about seeing the individuality in each other that makes this a great community.”

The gallery is on display inside City Hall, 425 E. State St., through Oct. 29. City Hall is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
