ROCKFORD — This Saturday, Oct. 23, female impersonators and transgender performers from across the country will take the stage at Cliffbreakers Events to compete in the Wisconsin Continental Pageant — the official and direct preliminary of the Continental Pageantry System

The Continental Pageantry System is an annual female impersonation competition now in its 42nd year. It has grown into a global contest with preliminary pageants and contestants from Europe, Canada, the United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Islands.

This preliminary pageant will bring the very best in performing art. Contestants will compete in four divisions:

  1. MISS – For female impersonators
  2. MR. – For male entertainers
  3. PLUS – For full figures
  4. ELITE – For 40 and older

The contestants will answer onstage questions from judges and compete in talent, evening gown and swimwear categories.

“We are very excited to bring this level of pageantry to Rockford,” said Lonny Plowman, communications manager.

In a world that often misunderstands or scorns transgender female impersonators, The Continental Pageantry System brings awareness, embraces transgender female impersonators, and unites a community to celebrate beauty, talent and the art of performing on stage.

Doors open at 6 p.m. at Cliffbreakers Events, 700 W. Riverside Blvd., and the show starts at 7 p.m. Reserved VIP tickets are $25 and general admission $20. This event is family-friendly.
