ROCKFORD — One of the highlights of Stroll on State is the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree.

After 2020 kept many from celebrating with loved ones, the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau wants to make sure they bring the community together to experience joy and wonder during the holidays.

That’s why they need your help!

The Visitors Bureau is looking for that one special tree to bring magic to the area for Stroll on State and for the entire Merry & Bright holiday season.

Here’s the criteria they consider:

  • Width, height, and location of the tree
  • Ability to transport under any powerlines
  • Fullness of tree
  • Blue Spruce is preferred but not required
  • The tree must be donated. However, RACVB will pay for the tree removal

Any and all residents in the Rockford area are welcome to submit a tree for consideration. On Nov. 16, the tree will be harvested.

If you want to submit a tree for consideration, you can do so by emailing photos and details about the tree to StrollOnState@gorockford.com.
