ROCKFORD — The city is looking for new officers to join the Rockford Police Department.

The department is accepting applications for entry-level officers, who earn a starting salary of $57,726.

“The Rockford Police Department seeks men and women who are a reflection of our community and who are dedicated to making a daily difference by going the extra mile for each and every resident and visitor,” Recruiting Officer Katy Statler said in a news release. “We all want to see positive changes in our community and now is a perfect chance to join us in becoming that change.”

You can apply online at rpdwantsyou.com. Applications must be completed by Nov. 30. The Human Resources Office at City Hall, 425 E. State St., has computers available to apply online.

Interested applicants can meet with the department’s recruitment team and learn more about being a city police officer from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. tonight at District 3 Headquarters, 557 S. New Towne Drive.
