The Rockford Rescue Mission is recognized as the region’s primary provider of assistance to the homeless, near-homeless, addicted and working poor in the region.

It raises money for its services by selling gently used household items, clothing and more through its retail store at 2710 20th St. The store is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Your purchase of items through the store goes to directly to help those in need.

The Rockford Rescue Mission provides several types of services and programs free to anyone in need. Here’s a look at what it offers:

  • Hope Clinic: Free medical, dental, and chiropractic services provided for Mission guests, residents, as well as the uninsured or underinsured.
  • Crisis Centers: Short-term shelters offering emergency services
  • Hot meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served every day to anyone in need
  • Works! Center: Educational, employment and vocational training
  • Life Recovery Programs :A residential long-term program (9-12 months) offering comprehensive help for men, women and mothers with children

You can also help by donating your time as a volunteer, from cooking food or serving meals to teaching someone how to read and write. The Rockford Rescue Mission welcomes all types of volunteers to help in their mission of healing and hope for those in need.
