BELVIDERE — The community of Belvidere has stepped in to help a family mourning the horrendous killing of a father and his two sons.

A GoFundMe campaign was created by Lori Hintt to help cover the costs of burying her family members, and it has raised more than $27,500 so far.

Belvidere police say that Andrew Hintt, 31, and his two sons, Benjamin, 7, and Sebastian, 5, were found shot to death Sunday night inside a home in the 600 block of Union Avenue.

“These boys were energetic, loving and they brought a smile to those around them,” the GoFundMe page reads. “Their passing has left their friends and families with a void that will never heal.”

The page also says the money raised, “will help lessen the burden for funding their memorial service for these sweet boys. If you have it in your heart to help give these boys the service they deserve it would be greatly appreciated. If you are not able give at this time, we understand and ask that you keep us in your prayers.”
