ROCKFORD — The Winnebago County Health Department will host three vaccine, booster shot and flu shot clinics this week.

The vaccines are available for anyone ages 5 and older. Children ages 5-17 will receive the Pfizer vaccine. Anyone 18 and older can pick Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson for their first vaccine or booster shot. Those receiving a second COVID-19 vaccine or a booster shot should bring their vaccination record card to the appointment.

All vaccines and boosters are given by appointment only. Register for an appointment at wchd.org.

Here’s this week’s schedule, all clinics are hosted at the Winnebago County Health Department, 555 N. Court St., Rockford

  • 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday
  • 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday
  • 8 a.m. to noon Saturday

Just under 55% of Winnebago County residents have been vaccinated, compared to the state rate of 60%.

At last week’s end the three Rockford hospitals were treating 180 patients with the coronavirus, a decrease of eight from the week prior.
