BELOIT — The Office for Student Success, Equity & Community and Black Students United at Beloit College are collecting donations to benefit the homeless, domestic violence and child abuse survivors, and other charities in the area.

The effort is part of several events in February honoring Black History Month.

Items needed are:

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Personal hygiene and health care items: shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, hand sanitizer, sanitary pads, tampons
  • Baby products: diapers (sizes 3, 4, and 5), baby wipes (hypoallergenic)
  • New clothing items in original packaging: socks, underwear
  • Cleaning supplies: floor cleaner, bleach, Lysol spray, multi-purpose cleaner, Clorox wipes
  • New blankets, new pillows, and new bedding in original packaging
  • Books for children
  • Office supplies: paper, writing tools, print cartridges
  • Gift cards and gas vouchers for volunteer advocates
  • Small toy figurines: little people/action figures, nature elements, houses, and cars
  • Children’s art supplies

Items can be donated through Feb. 28th at Grace’s Place next to the mail center on the campus of the Beloit Campus.
