MACHESNEY PARK — Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has set an opening date for its first location in the Rockford region.

The Wichita, Kansas-based chain will celebrate its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Parks Chamber of Commerce on Monday before opening its doors at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at 9901 Orlando St.

“Machesney Park will be our first Freddy’s location in the Rockford area,” Eric Cole, franchise owner, said in a news release. “The family-friendly atmosphere surrounding the area, as well as the proximity to many different retail businesses and restaurants along West Lane Road make Machesney Park a great next stop for Freddy’s. ”

Supply chain issues forced the company to push back its original opening from mid-April, but now it’s ready to open its 17th location in Illinois.

“We want to bring more than just another restaurant in the community by making an effort to become familiar with our guests and their stories,” Cole said in the news release. “We take pride in being a good neighbor to the residents and businesses in the areas we serve by providing fantastic food and custard with genuine hospitality. We also host fundraiser nights for local schools and other nonprofit organizations. We look forward to becoming a part of the community and greatly appreciate the warm welcome.”
