ROCKFORD — The Blackhawk Boys & Girls Club, 330 15th Ave., will host a display of students’ art work on from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The work on display represents the efforts of more than 50 children who are members of the club.

“The club members worked hard on their art work and are proud to be part of the thriving Rockford art scene,” the Blackhawk Boys & Girls Club wrote in a news release.

The club emphasizes the importance of learning and becoming a well-rounded individual. Creativity and self-confidence through art are vital parts of their development.

“At the Blackhawk Boys and Girls Club, we believe that art is a place for children to learn to trust their ideas, themselves and to explore what is possible,” the organization said.
