ROCKFORD — Looking for something to do in the Rockford area this weekend?
There’s plenty to choose from, with live music, movies, a Rockford Peaches musical, a Ski Broncs show and more.
Here are a few ideas for fun this weekend:
Live music and a Peaches movie at Lino’s
The first Four Fridays in the 14th Ward event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Lino’s Restaurant, 5611 E. State St., Rockford.
The featured movie is “A League of Their Own,” the 1992 classic about the Rockford Peaches starring Tom Hanks and Geena Davis. Live music comes from Miles Nielsen and Kelly Steward.
Admission is free and the event runs until 10:30 p.m.

Celebrate Loves Park’s 75th birthday
The city is throwing a 75th anniversary celebration from noon to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Loves Park City Hall festival grounds, 100 Heart Blvd., Loves Park.
The free celebration includes live music, food trucks, a car show and fireworks.
Band schedule: 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Bill and Jim’s Excellent Acoustic Adventure; 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Rosey and The Rivets; 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sensations; 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Kashmir
Food trucks: Thai Jasmine, Cluck Stops Here, Mario’s Tacos, Uzo Street Kitchen, 15th & Chris, Little Nick’s BBQ and more
The fireworks show is set to begin at 9:40 p.m.

Get exclusive prints at a Rockford art opening
The Rockford Area Arts Council and Fatherless Print Posse will host an art opening and party from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at 727 First Ave. in Rockford.
Fatherless, an award-winning collective of print makers, graffiti artists and designers, will show off its studio and offer exclusive prints for a donation.
All proceeds go toward the Arts Council’s grants for artists program.
There will also be food trucks and a cash bar.

A local theater company’s new original musical about the Rockford Peaches, called “The Girls of Summer,” continues this weekend after debuting last week.
There are multiple showtimes Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Maddox Theatre at Rockford University, 5050 E. State St., Rockford. You can get your tickets on The Studio’s website HERE.
Watch the Ski Broncs on the Rock River
The Ski Broncs are back in action at 7 p.m. Friday at Shorewood Park, 235 Evelyn Ave., Loves Park.
The free event showcases the team’s stunts and acrobatics on the Rock River with bleacher seating on the shoreline.
Catch a drive-in movie
The Drive 815 will show two movies this weekend at its pop-up drive-in theater at 12801 Old River Road in Rockton.
“Sing 2” is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Friday and “Bad Guys” will play at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
It costs $25 per car, per night or $40 for the entire weekend.
