ROCKFORD — Voters here and across Illinois head to the polls on Tuesday to select the state’s governor, as well as representatives in Congress, the state legislature and other statewide offices and local positions such as county board.

Where can I see results?

The final results are not certified until two weeks after the election. However, you can see the unofficial results Tuesday night. We’ll post a roundup of key races. Or, you can watch in real time on the Rockford Board of Elections website HERE or Winnebago County Clerk HERE.

Can I still register to vote?

Illinois is one of 21 states and the District of Columbia that allows same-day voter registration, according to Ballotpedia.

To do so, you must go to your polling place with two valid forms of identification: A driver’s license and social security card are recommended.

When are the polls open?

Polls open at 6 a.m. Tuesday and close at 7 p.m.
