ROCKFORD — After announcing in August that it would shut down its retail operations, Crimson Ridge now says that it will close its flower shop, too.

The locally owned source of flowers, gifts and other merchandise at 735 N. Perryville Road made the announcement Tuesday via Facebook. A final closing date was not announced.

“After much reflecting over the last few months, we have decided to listen to our hearts and retire all of Crimson Ridge including the floral shop,” the company wrote on social media. “We have spent the last 27 years with our Crimson Ridge family … now we are going to spend the holiday with our families at home.”

Crimson Ridge said it will close Friday, Dec. 23 through Christmas Day, and then reopen Monday, Dec. 26 “to begin our second round of saying goodbye.”

Crimson Ridge opened in March 1995 as a flower shop and expanded over the years into a go-to source for many other types of gifts, clothing and other merchandise.

The buildings at 695 and 735 N. Perryville Road were sold by Fieldman LLC for $3.8 million to Lemont-based Goich Wabick LLC about a year ago, according to Winnebago County Clerk and Recorder’s office records. But it has not been announced what may replace Crimson Ridge.

“We are happy to have been a part of your lives,” the company wrote on Facebook.
