ROCKFORD — The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and LaMonica Beverages are partnering again this year to offer free rides home during New Year’s celebrations.

LaMonica Beverages pays for sheriff’s deputies to provide safe rides from 10 p.m. New Year’s Eve on Saturday to 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

Anyone who calls the department’s non-emergency line at 815-282-2600 can request a ride. Rides will only be given to a residence, not to other bars or businesses.

“The Sheriff’s Department appreciates LaMonica Beverages strong commitment to our efforts to help keep the community safe,” the sheriff’s department said in a news release. “As always, the Sheriff’s Department urges citizens to drive safely and responsibly. Don’t drive distracted, watch your speed and always buckle up.”
