ROCKFORD — After two years of cancelations due to the pandemic, we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer to enjoy Rockford’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Due to the cold weather, Rockford’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade has officially been postponed to next Saturday, March 19th.

Prairie Street Brewing Company plans to still host its Paddy Fest in downtown Rockford on Saturday, March 12th starting at 4 p.m.

“For caution, because of the wind chill, we can’t die the river green,” Danny McDade from the Irish Marching Society said in an interview with Steve Summers from 95.3 The Bull.
“For safety, we’re going to push it a week. Just the parade. Paddy Fest is happening on the 12th.”

Next Saturday, March 19th, the St. Patrick’s Day parade will kick off at 3 p.m, go the same route, and end at Prairie Street.
