ROCKFORD — Rockford Region Restaurant Week is underway, and there are dozens of special menu items, drinks and deals being offered at eateries around the area.
The annual celebration of the local culinary scene was created by the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau as a way to support local restaurateurs during colder weather months. It’s actually longer than a week, running until Feb. 4 this year.

The visitors bureau gathers deals from participating restaurants for Restaurant Week, and there are nearly 60 listed so far.
