ROCKFORD — A $10 lottery ticket purchased at Schnucks on 11th Street is now worth $500,000.

The Illinois Lottery said Tuesday that the winning scratch-off ticket was sold at the Schnucks at 3134 11th St.

This is the second time the store has sold a $10 lottery ticket that won a major prize. In November, the store sold a $10 Crossword ticket that won $250,000.

Schnucks receives a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Winners should visit IllinoisLottery.com/winning to learn how to claim your prize. The Lottery encourages winners to write their names on the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place.

The Illinois Lottery said it has already sold more than five million winning tickets this year, netting players more than $123 million in prizes.

Instant Ticket games priced from $1 to $50 are available at approximately 7,000 retail locations across Illinois.

The lottery contributes 25 cents of every dollar spent toward public education, capital projects and other state causes. Since 1985, it has generated more than $24 billion in revenue for the state, according to the Illinois Lottery.
