Loves Park Mayor Greg Jury joined Steve Summers on This Week in the Stateline to talk about the Rhythm of the Heart Festival, which happens from 1 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 29.
Ryan Curry, a Marine veteran and the founder of Beneath the Beard, joins Steve Summers on This Week in the Stateline. Beneath the Beard helps veterans cope with the residual effects of traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder.
The organization will host its first Back the Beard event from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Buster's Bar and Grill, 7113 N. Alpine Road, Loves Park. It costs $5 to get in with proceeds supporting the organization.

Amy Nord, executive director of the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce, joins Steve Summers on This Week in the Stateline to talk about the multitude of upcoming events the chamber is hosting.
"I think the biggest challenge for us is just finding events that people are comfortable attending," she said on the show. "We have really tried to find that sweet spot of balancing in-person events that are a smaller number of people ... and then some larger events that we can hold."
