YWCA Northwestern Illinois is committed to serving families and students during these uncertain times; even when families are engaged in virtual education. The YWCA is excited to announce that they have developed the YWCA Remote Learning Center, a safe and structured environment that will allow students to attend virtual classes, benefit from peer interaction, and participate in engaging enrichment activities, while parents return to work. The Learning Center is available for students entering first grade through eighth grade.

The YWCA Remote Learning Center provides a structured schedule to ensure that students are able to stay focused and on-task while engaging in virtual learning, and also receive onsite academic support in a small group setting. The YWCA will work directly with parents to ensure each child’s success. YWCA Remote Learning Center hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., similar to normal school hours. Space will be provided for students to participate in synchronous and asynchronous virtual learning, with facilitators available to provide assistance.

Parents will have the option of selecting a full week schedule, or three days a week schedule, which will include both academic and enrichment sessions. Each session will be separated by a lunch break and outside structured playtime that utilizes social distancing.
